Welcome, Parents & Friends!

We welcome parent involvement at Durham Elementary School. Research shows that students whose parents are involved in their education generally are more successful in school and in life.

Please visit the school office any time and stay in touch with your child’s teacher – see the Staff Directory for phone numbers and to send an email to your child’s teacher or Durham Elementary Staff.

We also welcome community participation, including donations of time, money, materials and expertise.

Enrollment Information

We currently have room in most grade levels. Please see our enrollment process below

In District Enrollment Process

If you live in the Durham area and are part of our district please bring the following to register your child with our school:

  • Your child’s official county birth certificate (a copy is acceptable)
  • your child’s immunization records
  • Proof of your residency in the Durham area (Must be current bill that is mailed to your physical address. PO Box mail is not acceptable)

Out of District Enrollment Process

If you do not live in the Durham area please go to your home district and request an inter-district transfer (Form 11) before coming to register your child with our school.

When you come to register your child you will need to bring the following to complete the registration process:

  • your child’s official county birth certificate (a copy is acceptable)
  • your child’s immunization records
